Customer Reviews: Yes, I do feel some toning going on!!... Really March 11, 2010 Kim Brophy (US) I read the reviews on these and decided to try them. Most reviews talked about how comfortble these are just for wearing around. THEY ARE NOT to my feet. They make the bottoms of my feet go to sleep while walking, and are overall painfull to wear, especially at first (and yes they are the right size). Speaking of size, they are true to size as far as I can tell, so that should not be a concern when ordering without being able to try them on.
While many reviewers talked about not knowing if they were toning anything, I am convinced that they do indeed help tone your legs/butt. They also do promote good posture. When I am finished walking in them I notice a greater tightness in my lower regions than if I wear normal shoes.
The downfall for me is that they hurt my knees and feet. They do not provide any stability, so if you need that these may be bad for you as well. I feel as though I am slamming my feet down constantly and can't avoid it. I also get a feeling of hyperextention in my knees from they way the shoes make contact with the ground.
I do also notice that, physically, I cannot walk very fast in them so my heart rate does not elevate as much as when I can speed walk in my regular shoes. I would recommend alternating shoes.
I give them 4 stars because I believe they give a better muscle workout, and hope that others w/o stability issues can benefit from them.
I am going to give them a few more miles, but overall I think they are hurting me (orthopedically) more than helping me.
